Everyone loves a party! And we'd love to help you with yours. We offer storytelling sessions for little ones (best for third & fourth birthdays), face paints & glitter tattoos, and great craft activities for bigger children! (age four upwards)
travelling tales story session parties
Our story sessions are brilliant for third & fourth birthday parties.
They are a laid-back, relaxed, entertaining option, especially suited to children that love stories and imaginative play.
The storyteller arrives to your venue about 45 minutes before the party start-time to set up the Fairy Tale World, and then will gather the children and begin the story at an agreed upon time (we usually recommend the story starts about fifteen/twenty minutes after the party start-time, to allow for latecomers.) The story lasts approximately fifty minutes, depending on the number of children & level of interaction, and then is followed by free-play time with puppets and set.
The Fairy Tale World & puppets can then stay up for the remainder of the party, supervised by the storyteller, so children can come and go as they wish, and play at their own pace.
The party story session costs £100 for bookings within Portsmouth, with a travel fee for bookings further afield, and is also offered on a pay-what-you-can basis for those that need it, depending on availability. Accompanying craft activities are a small extra fee, dependant on what the activity is.

craft activities for parties
Craft activities are a great option for older children who love being creative.
Puppets are our speciality, but we are happy to cater to most requests, and can provide craft activities around most themes, from pirates to jungles, from fairies to monsters! These can be either drop-in style activities, where the children are free to move around the party as they wish and take part in the craft activities as little or as often as they want (we find this best for larger groups, where you will likely have a mix of interest-levels), or structured activities that the workshop leader leads step-by-step (this is good for smaller groups, and can be the main focus of the party, which each guest taking home a finished item/artwork).

face painting for parties
Face painting is a classic party and event option. Who wouldn't want to be magically transformed with the flick of a brush into a tiger or a unicorn, a monster or a butterfly?! We tend not to recommend face-painting as the main attraction at a party, as the nature of it means it's a one-child-at-a-time thing, which isn't a fun party if you're just waiting around for your turn. But it's great as an extra feature, a very exciting add-on to the main entertainment!
It's also a great addition to a community event, with the brightly coloured faces adding to an event's excitement and mood, and creating a very visually fun atmosphere! At an event, face painting can either be pre-booked & paid for by the event organiser, with face painting then offered for free to guests, or booked and run as a fee-charging stall, with face painting offered to guests for a fixed fee.
We always suggest offering glitter tattoos alongside face paints: it can be a more affordable option for families, or a good option for children whose faces might not be suitable for face paints. .
